Is the ultimate response when discussing a persons work life with them when your not really concerned about his or her work life. EXAMPLE:
John: How's work going? *glances at watch*
Tom: Oh its going pretty good, I just got done making my TPS report for the week...
*John glances at watch again*
Tom: ...and I have lunch with a client at 3...
*John begins to regret asking the somewhat rhetorical question*
Tom: We were doing pretty poorly in the 3rd quarter but things are slowly starting to pick up now...
*John thinks about what he should eat for dinner that night*
